I requested and received “for free” this 2 PACK OF SCUBA DIVING FLASHLIGHTS to test and give my honest opinion. I ordered these flashlights because it seems I am always out in the rain for some lousy reason and having a flashlight that is absolutely waterproof IN THE RAIN would be one less worry in what is probably a bad situation already. Starting the emergency generator during a storm, changing a car tire in the rain, going out in the rain to check on my curbside mailbox for an important letter at night are just a few things I’ve had to do in the past (no dogs in this household, but I can hear my brother-in-law complaining about walking the dogs in the rain again). Not certain I like the “twist end cap” style of on/off/mode change switch but it seems to work fine. I did liked that they included both a 3 AAA battery holder and a 18650 battery holder tube (see photo) as I have two dozen of those rechargeable 18650 batteries in my flashlight box.. I could MAYBE SEE using the Velcro wrist strap while starting the generator but not much else. While trying out the strap it kind of limited my wrist movement and was uncomfortable. I guess if you were scuba diving your wet suit gloves cancel out that problem and you wouldn’t want to drop the flashlight or have it wash away. The light is bright enough for all close work and to see 50 feet in front of you on a walking path. Bright yellow color makes it easy to find in a semi-dark room or kitchen junk drawer. This flashlight would NOT be a great gift for most people as it is a bright yellow plastic outside housing, has the funky on/off switch and just plain looks like a cheap plastic flashlight (WHICH IT IS NOT, ALUMINUM ALLOY BODY UNDER LAYER OF ABS PLASTIC)… But if you have a scuba diver friend, it would be a warmly welcomed gift.Ordering as a Vine member does not mean I’m getting “free products”.. Between my time for testing the product, doing an honest review and the FEDERAL AND STATE INCOME TAXES I am liable for because I am “receiving items of value in lieu of wages” that are based on the LIST PRICE with no coupons allowed to be used, there is a real cost to these items “paid for” by me. Since most of the items offered to VINE Member are Brand New to the market, never on the market before, MANY TIMES the price drops or coupons become available to every Amazon buyer a week or so after VINE Members orders them at FULL LIST PRICE. This really affects any cost savings VINE Members may end up with.. ALSO, for the brand new items there are no REVIEWS YET (that why we get to do this) so many times we order items that are total junk and we are stuck with them and the tax liability. So far I have been having a great time “doing my VINE job”, and I hope to continue doing it for quite some time….
